WOW, thats heavy! Is that 2 fines (you and your friend, or just you)? I know that in Germany you can get big fines by "driving with bicycle under the influence of alcohol". In Finland you are allowed to drink and drive with bicycle as long you are not making any danger (If you are hitting other people with bike etc. you are making danger). But this thing, just shit. What you should do, drive with car - expensive car??

PS. You know how much I love Slovenian Policia...

wtf? what about driving brakeless? did they even notice?

I got 450€, friend got 570€, and its half a price if we pay in 8 days...so not that bad, but I'm still mad.

Funy thing is that fees are the same if we were driving a car.

We wasnt making danger, I was even having bicycle light and we were riding on bicycle lane.

no problems being brakeless, they just took ours "frame serial numbers"

I think that fixed gear counts as rear brake.

I believe policemen's salary depends of the award or percentage of tickets he gives. Like salesmen's, the more he sells the bigger the salary. Well the salesman can not make buy his crap, the policemen can force me to buy any bullshit...

Since the police turned to business and making profits, I believe they at least need some competition on today free market. ;)

Is it really in Slovenian law that you are not allowed to drive and drink (with bike)? Huh, I'm not going to drive in Lj anymore, my rog does not have even frame number. I think they would took it and send me immidetly back to Finland.

It looks like it is in Slovenian law. But it is nerly impossible to check, our law is only revealed to the most patient. It is just impossible to find the info on the internet. There is a law for traffic related stuff: ZVCP-1 form 2004 that is still valid. It is on the net, and there are hundreds of new paragraphs added or changed also on the internet... and it is your task to combine it altogether to be accurate.
If you need some law related info regarding designing a vehicle there is a total mess... for example: if you have something like Solex or Piaggio Ciao... It is illegal for the engine to propel you faster that 25 km/h, but there are pedals... you can go faster than 25 km/h on human power and it is perfectly legal. But what will say the policeman on terrain is a different question.
The day when everybody will have to be always accompanied by the lawyer is near, Mayans predicated it to be in 2012.

And don't worry about your rusty Rog it is in good hands... It is an awesome bike, makes me smile whenever I ride it.

I'm pretty sure its illegal to go over 25km/h on human power.

Hey Tarman are you using my Rusty Pony Chopper? Cool! Thats one Sick bike! Does it still have "heroin" handle bars? Its so horrible to drive, that it makes it so much fun :D Link: http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a219/Peltirumpu/Ponychoppers/

AzuSuper said...

BTW, I cant believe that you guys will stop going on parties with bikes. So what to do in future to avoid those aššhole čops?

sveti jebem said...

I do! And thank you for leaving it here. It is a sick bike and I like it... I feel like celebrity riding it, everyone is looking, children are pointing fingers at me, and I have to tell everyone, that I will not paint it... and that I didn't make it myself.
It is almost as it was. I had to change a seat (old one had springs looking out), I pealed of those Cocckta labels and put loads of tape inside the rear rim, it is very rusty inside and chips of chrome punctured me two tubes.
As for driving, it depends how you do it, it is pleasant most of the time, the position is very comfortable and there is lots of suspension. It can be a bit difficult to make it go straight at low speeds and it can get nasty if you panic and become all stiff, or even worse, try to put your feet down...
Tilen made few nice pictures.

Naturally we will go to parties with bikes. As for the cops, some are nice and some are jerks and before they stop you, there is no way of knowing. Running is generally a bad idea, they are trained to catch people, that is their job. You are a decent man running for the first time and the odds are against you. It isn't hard to escape on a bike, but on the other hand there are many things that can go wrong... traffic accident, falling (since you are drunk), you will make a dash home and they will just follow you and ring a bell, call the other cops in area, most of our bikes are easily recognisable, we even publish them on internet with our names... They can even pull a gun out as you already know... Tilen told me yesterday, they must have been some die hard fans of Bruce Willis.

the cops are not really doing anything smart. it is not very risky if a bicycle rider drinks alcohol. the real dangers are the over 170 km/h idiots on the highways since they are easily the most aggressive drivers off highways as well... nobody is paying any real attention to those drivers. also none to all the idiots going thru red lights, zig-zagging from one lane to other and stuff like that. the traffic is actually getting worse and fining bicycle riders who had a beer or two only underlines how idiotic approach the police has...instead of going after the really big offenders... you could put radars on the highways and you could make good for national deficit in no time.

That sucks. Slovene coppers are assholes, at least the ones that I've met in duty. Read somewhere that a Slovene pro cyclist got a 100€ fine for not using a bikelane while doing a training ride... Idiots.
